Assoc. Prof. Adam Muhammad Abubakar

Assoc. Prof. Adam Muhammad Abubakar is a Certified Sharia Adviser and Auditor with AAOIFI (CSAA) and Associate Member, Charted Institute for Securities and Investment, UK (ACIS). He obtained LLB in Islamic Jurisprudence from Islamic University in Niger Republic (IUN); and Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) from University of Maiduguri. He also obtained M.A. in Islamic Studies and PhD in Islamic Studies from Bayero University Kano (BUK) in 2010 and 2014 respectively. He further obtained another PhD in Islamic Financial Laws from Al-Madinah International University (MEDIU), Malaysia in
2016. 

He also obtained Islamic Finance Qualification (IFQ) from prestigious Charted Institute for Securities and Investment, UK and attended CIS Executive Conversion Course at Charted Institute of Stockbrokers of Nigeria.

Dr. Adam was an Acting Head of Islamic Studies Department and a Director of the Centre for Research in Qur’anic Studies in Yobe State University, Damaturu. He authored three (3) books (both in Arabic and English) and published over forty (40) articles in both local and International Refereed Journals, majorly in Islamic Banking and Finance. He also presented many papers at Local and International Conferences and facilitated many professional trainings and workshops organized by many professional organizations, such as Nungu Business School, Charted Institute of Stockbrokers, Institute of Islamic Finance Professionals, National Judicial Institute, Nigerian Stock Exchange Academy, ICICE, PenOp, etc.

Dr. Adam is a Council Member of the Institute of Shariah Advisors and Auditors in Nigeria, Fellow of Islamic Finance Professionals (FIFP), Associate Member, Charted Institute of Stockbrokers of Nigeria (ACS), Member, Association of Capital Market Academics of Nigeria (ACMAN), Member, Islamic Economic Club, Kuwait (MIEC) and Member, Association of Zakat and Waqf Operators of Nigeria (AZAWON).

Currently Dr. Adam is an Associate Professor of Islamic Finance with Yobe State University, Damaturu and a member of the Advisory Council of Expert (ACE) of Crown Takaful Limited.
